  • Lesson 3.6.9 Cūḷakammavibhaṅgasuttaṃ, Part Two – The Result of Unwholesome and Wholesome Actions

The Cūḷakammavibhaṅgasutta addresses the results of one's actions (e.g., kammic effects of violence, injury, anger and harm done to others), with the second part focusing on effects that result from envy, greed and stinginess, arrogance, pride and ignorance. The sutta suggests that regardless of one's belief in kamma, a person who lives a considerate and mindful life, avoiding intentional harm to others, will naturally find peace. By incorporating wholesome virtues into their daily activities, a householder can live without concern for their future, ensuring their mind remains unshaken and secure even when facing the ups and downs of life. Phuṭṭhassa lokadhammehi, cittaṃ yassa na kampati; asokaṃ virajaṃ khemaṃ (When faced with the vicissitudes of life, one’s mind is unshaken, sorrow less, stainless and secure.).
