Conjugation of ā-ending verbal base (suṇā)
suṇāti = listens

Please note that the ending vowel ‘ā’ of the verbal base ‘suṇā’ is dropped and the terminations for future tense are added.
suṇā + issa + ti = suṇissati
All the ā-ending verbal bases conjugate like ‘suṇā’ in the Future Tense.
E.g.
kiṇā : kiṇissati – kiṇissanti …
gaṇhā : gaṇhissati – gaṇhissanti …
dadā : dadissati – dadissanti …
1. Upāsakā ca upāsikāyo ca vihāre dhammaṃ suṇissanti.
suṇāti (v) = listens,
suṇissanti (third person, p) = (they) will listen
Translation : The male and female lay devotees with listen to the dhamma (teaching) in the monastery.
2. Bhūpālo vāṇijehi asse kiṇissati.
assa (m) = horse,
kiṇāti (v) = buys, purchases,
kiṇissati (third person, s) = (he) will buy / purchase
Translation : The king will purchase horses from the merchants.
3. Ācariyasmā vijjaṃ uggaṇhissāmi.
vijjā (f) = art, science, study, knowledge, wisdom;
uggaṇhāti (v) = learns
uggaṇhissāmi (first person, s) = I will learn
Translation : I will learn the art / science from the teacher. (Or – I will gain / obtain knowledge from the teacher)
4. Uyyānamhi pokkharaṇiyā padumāni ocinissāma.
ocināti (v) = picks, plucks
ocinissāma (first person, p) = we will pick
Translation : We will pick lotus flowers from the pond in the park.
Conjugation of o-ending verbal base (karo)
karoti = does, performs
