3.5.0 Right Actions*

He grieves here, he laments hereafter,
An evildoer grieves in both places;
He laments being afflicted
Seeing his own evil deeds.

He rejoices here, he delights hereafter,
A performer of wholesome deeds rejoices i
n both places. He delights, he is thrilled,
Recognising the purity of his own deeds.

He suffers here, he endures hereafter,
An evildoer suffers in both places;
“Unwholesome deeds have been done by me” thus he suffers,
He suffers still further, having gone to a woeful state.

He enjoys here, he enjoys hereafter,
A performer of wholesome deeds enjoys
both places; “Wholesome deeds have been done by me” thus he rejoices,
He enjoys still further having gone to a blissful state.
