3.6.2 Five Kind of Trades to be Avoided*


“Bhikkhus! There are these five types of trades lay follower should not engage in.

Which five?

Trade in weapons, trade in human beings, trade in meat, trade in intoxicants, and trade in poison. These are the five types of trades that a lay follower should not engage in.”

 

* Vaṇijjāsuttaṃ: Vaṇijjā + suttaṃ: Trades + sutta.
