3.8.0 Samādhisuttaṃ1

 

There are, Bhikkhus, three kind of sensations. And what are these three kinds? There are pleasant sensations, unpleasant sensations, and neutral, neither-unpleasant-nor-pleasant sensations. These, Bhikkhus, are the three kind of sensations.


Concentrated, with constant thorough understanding of impermanence,

And fully aware, thus the disciple of the Buddha,

Understands properly the sensations, the origin of their arising,

And how they cease and on this base - the path to their termination.

With the annihilation of the sensations, 

One attains freedom from all desire and ultimate peace.
