“Aṭṭhime, bhikkhave, dhammā parisuddhā pariyodātā anaṅgaṇā vigatūpakkilesā anuppannā uppajjanti. | “There are, Bhikkhus, eight Dhammas that are utterly pure and completely spotless, without any stain left on them and undefiled. |
Nāññatra tathāgatassa pātubhāvā arahato sammāsambuddhassa. |
They have not arisen before and arise only when the Tathāgata, an Arahant, the Sammāsambuddha appears. |
Katame aṭṭha? | What are these eight? |
Seyyathidaṃ– sammādiṭṭhi …pe…1 sammāsamādhi. |
They are right view, … and right concentration. |
Ime kho, bhikkhave, aṭṭha dhammā parisuddhā pariyodātā anaṅgaṇā vigatūpakkilesā anuppannā uppajjanti. | These are, Bhikkhus, eight Dhammas that are utterly pure and completely spotless, without any stain left on them and undefiled. |

- The usage of … pe … is an abbreviation of peyyāla and indicates that the omitted parts have to be filled in from memory. It was explained in detail in lesson 1.3.2 Orimatīrasuttam - The Hither and the Farther Shore.1
